you dont need them some people just have collicky babies and it helps with that. i use soothie and i love them but the parents choice i use for juice bottles as they let more air in than others.

bpa is a chemical that is emitted by some bottles and can be dangerous- they havent recalled the normal bottles yet but some mothers dont want to chance giving the chemical to their baby- if you cant afford them and it isnt something you are passionate about dont worry- its just like i have a friend who only eats organic food because other food can contain chemicals- i dont care so i dont choose organic

BPA has been shown to lead to adverse health affects later in life like cancer and early puberty. They haven’t proven it beyond a shadow of a doubt in the US but there’s enough evidence that that additive has been outlawed in Canada, the UK I think, and Australia.

BPA in bottles is not a problem unless you heat the bottles, then it exposes the formula to BPA. Which you shouldnt do anyway.

You don’t have to buy them but I do after reading what BPA can do to you and your child.
Do your research on BPA and make an educated decision after you learn more about it

BPA is an artificial growth hormone that is found in many different plastic products. It gets transmitted to the milk formuls etc in bottles when they are heated up. Thid hormone can throw off the chemical balance of your babies pituitary gland over time. Which creates problems such as early puberty. I use the Gerber NUK bottles. They are BPA free AND the nipples are orthodontic and more closely resemble the mothers nipple.

bpa is a chemical used to make polycarbonate(plastic) bottles and is an artificial estrogen and supposedly can be absorbed by whatever liquid is in the bottle.all this came out right as my son was coming off the bottle!! a website called ehow.com shows some bpa free bottles and how to pick one if you are interested.personally to be safe i would switch.

The plastic bottles have a chemical added to them to harden the plastic. When you reheat the babies food in the bottles they’re said to release chemicals…

I’m not sure of the statistical value of how dangerous or the percentage of cases…but I heard that the studies included links to diabetes.

They are not that expensive, I got 3 Gerber brand bottles from walmart for $6.00….they are BPA free…says so right on the package.
