When did Avent become BPA free?

By pregnantnews

I was looking through the Target website and they list Avent bottles as BPA free, so I clicked on the picture to read more and it says right there on the Avent box, BPA free…I thought I read somewhere that Avent had no intentions of changing their bottles.

they had to. they lost A LOT of business after that whole bpa thing (at least here in canada) they changed over probably 5 months ago!! I returned all my bottles and was reimbursed for them and they even sent me a free magic sippy (which both my son and I hate). they were the last ones to swap over.

eta: I returned bottles easily 5 months ago to babies r us. maybe the states was later switching as the recall was in canada only.

Avent did say that they had no intention of changing till they found out that it would cost them customers ( all of Canada, plus many people in the US). So they came out with the BPA free ones in the summer but they still make the BPA containing ones as well so you have to look for the ones that say BPA free

They may have changed them but they didn’t pull them off the shelves. I noticed plenty of bottles with BPA (#7/polycarbonate) at the local grocery store while researching an article. There is no requirement in the US to stop using BPA, so watch what you purchase.
