Anyone have a VBAC, and how soon after the last birth?
BySo I get a decision on if I want to do a VBAC. I had a baby May of 2007 and I am due in Aug 2009. I want to know of any experiences you had with a VBAC either good or bad.
The c-section I had with my daughter was due to her heart rate and what they called playing jump rope with the amb. cord.
Any insight would help!

i am going to try for one in april. i have asked this question before, and lots of ppl give you the medical side of things. i am just scared that i will bleed thru my previous incision and they have to do a hysterectomy. my first was due to a transverse baby. hopefully i can do a VBAC this time. i know exactly how you are feeling.

Wow your story sounds similar to mine! My son was born March 08 c-section and I am due again Aug 9… I have considered a VBAC however my doctor said 1 out of 100 people need an emergency c-section and you cannot be induced (meaning no pitocin can be given…) HOWEVER statistically 80% of women have no complications during the VBAC and vaginal birth is more healthy for the baby (going through the birth canal pushes toxins out of the babies lungs. My son breathed in meconium and they told me a vaginal birth might have helped push it out… but he ended up in the NICU for awhile)
Anyways that is just my research… I have not fully decided either and will be looking at others answers BEST OF LUCK and congrats to you!

My cousin and his partner had a c-section with their first born due to
his size and how tiny my cousin’s partner is.
Since then she has had two children via vaginal delivery and awaiting the birth of the fourth.
I’d try and see how far you can go thru the labour process and have the option of the c-section if needed.
They’re a horrible burden on yourself with a new baby where as with a vaginal delivery your up and about straight away.
Do what’s best for you and what your most comfortable with and good luck.

The main risk of a vbac is uterine rupture. However, the chance of this is extremely low – less than 1%. There are more risks associated with a c-section than the risk of uterine rupture.
If you decide on the vbac, refuse any induction drugs – no pitocin, cervidil or cytotec. The use of those greatly increases your risk of a rupture.
