Can anyone offer any advice when it comes to VBAC?
ByI had a c-section with my first baby, she was breech. This time around, I would like to try the “normal” way. I’ve told my doctor that I’d like to try VBAC and she agrees. Can anyone offer any advice or insight to VBAC births? Perhaps a personal story?
Thanking you in advance,
Flamingo.

I don’t have any advice, but I just wanted to say how lucky you are to find a doctor willing to perform a VBAC!
None of the hospitals around here (I’m in Houston) will let you have a VBAC, which is a shame, not to mention one of the reasons I’m hesitant to have a baby again. Not that a c-section is bad, but I really want to have another go at a successful vaginal birth.
And there is such a low risk of complications. It just enrages me that I am denied the opportunity for a VBAC because of malpractice suits.

I had a vbac!!! Terrific experience. I felt very good that I was able to avoid most interventions, since my first c/s was the result of the cascade of interventions… slow starting labor, got pit, arom, epidural… c/s. So this time I hired a midwife, labored at home for a while, got to the hospital, stayed upright, didn’t have an IV, and gave birth to my baby!
It was a great birth and I hope you have a great birth too!

I don’t have any specific tips for you, but there is a VBAC group on yahoo!answers. Don’t know how active it is now since ACOG pretty much axed the ability of many women to choose VBAC.
My hospital actually has a VBAC group of women who are going to have a VBAC and who have already done so. Mostly, look at what the reasons were for your first c-section.
