Can I purchase a medical insurance plan that will cover IVF without going through my employer?
ByMy husband is in the military and I have heard that the military does not cover the IVF procedure. Can I purchase a separate insurance that will help with the costs or do I need a job that has medical insurance benefits?

Could be. Or you can save up enough to pay for it. Or take out a loan. That would be nice though. Personally, my Insurance only covered the infertility testing. The procedure I think we will need to pay for.

There are many different types of insurance through different companies. I know one of kaisers policies will cover you for one round of IVF if you are not fertile due to natural reasons. IF you had your tubes tied they will not pay. Medical insurance is really expensive and you would probably be better off getting a loan because your monthly payment would probably be cheaper. I would call an infertility clinic and ask about a loan. They can give you all of the details and the monthly cost. Good luck hun
