How can I improve my chances for IVF success?
ByHi, my husband and I are looking into getting IVF, and we are scared because the price is so high and we want to be successful without having to go through it over and over again, paying that high price. Is there a way to improve our chances?

hey hun. My friend is going though this right now. They will ask you how many embryos you want. I would go with 2. It doubles your chances. Neways I would just try not to stress (i know easier said than done!) and what state do you live in b/c some states have grand programs! GOOD LUCK! BABY DUST!!!!!

Acupuncture. Our RE highly recommends acupuncture to his patients especially those doing IVF. Studies have shown up to a 30% increase in pregnancy when acupuncture is combined with IVF.
My hubby and I are planning for IVF in a couple of months. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility (so no real issues other than we have been ttc for 2.5 years now). We have tried other treatments and they haven’t worked. Our RE recommended acupuncture. I started the acupuncture 3 weeks ago and I love it. I am not on any treatments from my RE currently just the acupuncture. I am on cd 12 today and got a postive opk yesterday and today and I am having cramping and ovulation symptoms. I really feel different this cycle. It almost feels like a medicated cycle.
My acupuncturist has seen a great success in his patients getting pregnant. One IVF client increased her egg production from 2-3 (2 previous IVF cycles) to 24 eggs with her first month of acupuncture and IVF combined. She got pregnant that cycle as well.
Best wishes!
Edit: I should have also added prayer and faith! It helps me get through!

I would find an IVF center, if possible, that has a partnership with alternative supportive treatments. When going into my IVF cycle, I took a women’s Mind / Body Workshop that covered things like relaxation techniques, meditation, nutrition, yoga, acupuncture and support group talk therapy. It definitely put me in a much better place for my IVF cycle. For more info on this, you can pick up Dr. Domar’s book Conquering Infertility and Healing Mind Healthy Woman.
If you have not selected a fertility doctor yet, look hard and make sure that you find one that you are comfortable with. It is a huge expense and commitment, you want to like your doctors and nurses and agree with their philosophy.
Like someone else mentioned, we also transferred 2 embryos . . .both stuck and we now have twins, they are almost 5 months old. We were blessed on our first IVF cycle.
Best wishes!

Good luck with your IVF! My husband and I went through IVF not too long ago, and we were afraid of the same things. We were worried about the expense, and because of that, we wanted to do everything possible to raise the success rate. What we ended up doing was taking this test called the e-tegrity test. What the test does is it basically makes sure your body will accept the treatment. I had the test done to find out if the lining of my uterus would accept the implantation. My test results came back, and I scheduled my IVF. I was successful, which was wonderful. I highly recommend giving this a try–the test is so much more affordable than IVF, and that way, you can make sure the IVF is money well spent. If you are interested, take a look at http://www.etegritytest.com. They have info on the site. Good luck with your IVF and feel free to ask any questions. I can tell you more about the IVF process if you’re looking for answers, like what to expect, costs and things like that.

After 3 yrs of marriage and trying to conceive all of that time. My husband and I sought advice from my OB/GYN who referred me to a fertility specialist I was actually hoping for explained infertility but oh well. After several failed inseminations, we tried IVF. Went through the IVF injections and the whole bit and mid-way through the cycle, I developed some kind of infection and my Dr canceled the cycle. It was devastating to say the least. We forged on and decided to change clinics to a very well known and successful consultant in India called India Med Guru Consultants recommended by a family friend of ours. Be very choosy when you find a doctor, I chose Indian Med Guru Consultants in India because there success rates are quite high. There are so many setbacks along the way, but working with Indian Med Guru Consultants made the process less stressful. We cried and thanked God for this wonderful blessing. By way of hope and encouragement, we got pregnant first time with IVF and ICSI and I’m now 6 months pregnant with a baby boy! I pray every night for people who are trying to conceive because I understand how awful it is. God bless you and know that He is with you through all of this.
