How long will it take to get a private referral for IVF in the UK?
ByMy friend has been told that she will have to wait 9 months to get an appointment for IVF. She was seeing an NHS consultant but thinks she will have to pay privately. Is this the usual length of time for a NHS or private referral as she is not sure which it is

Hi, I had my first referal meeting in February of this year, and we booked in for May, although I did have to push for this appointment, the timing from then to injections etc to test day took about 2 months and I am now 10 weeks pregnant. Your friend needs to stress that she is paying privately, as this seemed to push things on for me.
