I was really lucky and got pregnant on my first try with donor eggs (after 3 negative IVF cycles with my own eggs), but I do know that it is frequently not until later cycles, but there is no hard and fast rule about it. Do you know how old her egg donor is and how long since her donor's last child was conceived? Do you have any idea about the quality of the embryos when they are transferred? It's not clear from your message whether her 1st cycle ended with a negative pregnancy test or a miscarriage.

If both cycles have ended in miscarriage, it might be worth your friend asking about the possibility of immune testing. It's quite new and some clinics don't put much store by it, but it can be successful at preventing recurrent miscarriages.

I know that I was incredibly lucky with our treatment, but the pain of infertility is simply awful, and to experience miscarriage on top of that must be heartbreaking. My heart really goes out to your friend and I hope so much that she is successful very soon.

with donor eggs it's usually 1 or 2 times..so it's good that the Dr. will be checking to see if there are any abnormalities, you can also get a second opinion.
you can also ask infertility specialists online for free and find others who might be going through similar situations, try fertilityties.com
good luck!
