I just finished IVF on 07feb and just wondering how come its negative on home pregnancy test?
ByI finished IVF 07 Feb and im scheduled for blood test on the 19 Feb, but i did a home pregnancy test two days in a row now and it’s negative for me. Just wondering if BETA count hass something to do with it. I know that pergnancy test only detects certain amount of it to be positive.

If the IVF worked then you are only 10 days pregnant. A HPT isn’t sensitive enough to pick up the pregnancy hormone yet. Most tests can read the hormone until you are 14 days pregnant or more. Patience.

Usually, they asked that you do a pregnancy test 14 days after egg retrieval (because transfer dates vary) especially if you used an HCG shot which can affect accuracy.
Most HPT tests do not show results if your HCG is less than 50. Some can detect it as low as 20. So if your HCG is still low, the HPT may not have detected it. Blood tests are more sensitive.
Also, from what my reproductive endocrinologist said, IVF is not 100%. He said the figure stands around 50% (I’m not sure if that is for my particular situation though, or a general number).
Good luck!

The BETA count definetly has something to do with it. It very well may not be high enough yet to be picked up on a HPT yet, especially depending on the sensitivity of the HPT you used. The BETA detects any amount (even if considered negative) whereas the HPT’s detect a ertain amiount such as 25 or 100 depending on the test/brand.
I now it is difficult but the 19th isn’t far away. Sending major luck your way.
