vbac and blood thinners?

By pregnantnews

I had my first child by c-section (too big to deliver), now with my second I had clotting and was put on lovenox, can I still have a vbac or is it to risky? Anyone have vbac while on blood thinner? How did it turn out for you?
oh, I will def. ask my doctor. I just want to see if anyone out there has done this before. My doc has kinda brought it up as a “it’s my choice” kinda thing.

I would not have a vbac for any reason. My Sister in law had (Attempted)one with her second child and her uturus ruptured and he died. He was otherwise healthy. She had multiple blood transfusions and nearly died. She was at a very reputable hospital and they have since changed their policies because she sued them. VBAC is not even possible in some stats and in some hospitals for a reason.

Actually I would think VBAC would be way safer than repeat cessarian for you. C-sections have a bigger risk of hemorage and being on blood thinners that could be fatal. And dont let people scare you with horror stories, every birth senario has them, there is no such thing as a risk free birth. VBAC has been proven multiple times to be much safer than elective cessarian. As long as you do your kegels religiously to help prevent tearing and refuse to lay on your back during labor I wouldn’t worry at all. Oh and you should know it is very rare to grow a baby too big to deliver, unless you have diabetes, nature doesnt let it happen. Doctors usually write that down as the reason for the cessarian if they dont have a clear answer. Make sure to check out these sites, they have everything you could ever want to know about VBAC and C-sections. Good luck and happy VBAC!
