Saffy receives a visit from her sadistic midwife and is subjected to a demonstration of most painful aspects of childbirth. Eddy meets with her bookclub and is distressed to find that Elizabeth Hurley has pulled out at the last minute. Only Patsy, Plum and Mariella Frostrup turn up to discuss the literary merits of OK! magazine. Meanwhile Saffy has invited John – her baby’s father – to the house to tell him the good news. Eddy is ecstatic to discover that John is black and that her grandchild will therefore be mixed race. “It’s the Chanel of babies!” she crows.

I’d say we take out our books, and spend I’d say 5 minutes on the pocket sized abridged version of The Picture of Dorian Gray, it’s tiny, the smallest book I could find!
I love how she actually tried!

@TheWilliamcale There was always much more to this comedy than to others. Not just in terms of social commentary, but more to the characters, and their histories.

@Joebycool @Joebycool That’s a lie, she auditioned for the role of Saffy, but Jen thought she would be perfect for Bubble, she really wanted to play Saffy, but she felt privileged to be part of the AbFab Team.
