Question about newborns?
ByQuestion by downclover: Question about newborns?
I was at Wal Mart the other day eating lunch at McDonald’s with Sampsonite, the 92yr old walmart greeter…his dad invented the suitcase. He told me that Ricki Lake advised him to let his wife have their child at home in the bathtub with a mid-wife to save a bunch of money. I’m a bit confused on the whole “midwife” ordeal because that implies that there are 3 wives and if my first wife found out 2 other women were involved I’d be killed…anyway, Sam came over to measure our tub and decided it wasn’t big enough and he offered his bathtub for the delivery of our baby. I asked how much he would charge and he said he just wanted the child named after him if he’s going to be born in his bathtub. I know this will save us a bunch of money but I’m not sure what to do. I’ve emailed and tried to call Ricki Lake for advice for the past 4months and have had no response.. Does anyone out there have any advice ? I’m just trying to save some money.
Thanks!

ummm… midwife is a friend that helps with the breathing and delivery thing. and i think the safety of the mother and the baby should be more important than the saving money thing.and what if something was wrong with the baby or wasnt breathing? then what wood u do if u werent at a hospital?

You must have just watched the ‘business of being born’, eh?

I had my baby at home, I labored a bit in the bath tub, but I had my babe in a squat position using my bed for support.
I know you are not quite serious but for information purposes, birthing at home for low risk women is safer than a hospital because you do not have doctors looking to intervene.
The C-sec rate in the US is over 33%, that is 1 in 3!
Other countries use midwives to deliver babies.
Home birth allows you to have instant mother/babe bonding unlike a hospital.
Less chance of infection, and well the list goes on.
