What should I study in high school in order to become a pediatrician or midwife?

By pregnantnews

I’m only thirteen, but I’m going into year nine/ninth grade tomorrow, and I was just wondering what I should study in years 10, 11 and 12 to set me up for a succesful career as a pediatrician or midwife.

You don’t need to worry about that in high school. Really. Just try to keep a gpa of at least 3.5 and do some sort of extra curricular activity. Because there really isn’t anything you can take as in an elective that would count towards a credit in college.
Now what you could do is when you turn 16,start from the bottom up and work at a hospital. Get your hands dirty young. Also some colleges may let you purchase their text books even if you don’t attend their school, you can get a heads up in some of the things you need to know.

Biology, anatomy, chemistry, english, higher math. Wow pediatrician or midwife those are kinda far apart. A pediatrician is a doctor a midwife pretends to be a doctor till something goes wrong then she goes and gets him. If you wanna make the real money be a pediatrician. If you like cleaning after birth and doing a doctors dirty work be a midwife.

You must have biology, math, science and at least one language extra.

take lots of biology classes, anatomy, and math classes. Get them done now so that you don’t have to take them in collage.

But talk to your consulars at your school about it they can help you set your goals.

woahh you start tomorrow? thats so wierd we’re only halway through our year, but i live in the us. do you live in england?? if you do im super jealous.

wellll to become a pediatrician you’re gonna have to go to college and to medical school, and that’s where you really study specifics. you need to get a good gpa, good tests scores, and just in general do well in high school so that you can get into a good college. it will help you though to take a lot of sciences in high school, especially biology, if only because you will understand it more in college then.

good luck! :)
