Whats the difference between a midwife and a nurse practitioner?
BySo my next appt is the 23rd and I noticed I am not seeing the midwife I saw in the beginning, that I have actually been seeing a nurse practitioner since appt 2. What exactly is a “woman’s health nurse practitioner”? She has done all my exams and is the one that did the ultrasound and everything, so is she basically the same thing with slightly different title? I am just confused.

A midwife has done a master’s degree in childbirth techniques, in addition to the regular RN bachelor’s degree. Often they are called CNM = ‘certified nurse midwife’. I have two of them and I love them dearly — midwife birth is the way to go!

They are similar in what they can do. These links will explain the differences better than I can.
