Would you get a CAST of your BELLY while pregnant?
ByI am a doula & was thinking of offering this service.
I have never done it, but wanted some pregnant womens’ thoughts on doing it.

I’ve never heard of it, but that would be pretty cool! I was thinking about getting a shadow drawing/ silhouette of my belly every month.

I was thinking about this today and I would LOVE to have this done if it wasnt to exspensive or anything. This is my first baby so it would be great to have a memory like that, I want to have as many memories I can of my pregnancy.

I’ve seen it done on tv and if I remember correctly, some women painted them and used for them as an art piece. If you live in a major city, there may be some interest. Our daughter chose to go with beautiful maternity photographs with her husband. A keepsake.

We ordered a kit online during my first pregnancy and did it. That was four years ago. It was fun. I had it at the baby shower and everyone signed it.

Yes! I plan on getting this done with this pregnancy. I have seen some beautiful artwork done with the belly casts~ especially with whimsical flowers. I think you would do well.

It strikes me as exceedingly silly. Where does one PUT such a large testament to the ego?
Doula-shopping, I came across a number who offered it, and it really stood out as a useless thing that nobody would offer if it wasn’t for the extra profit. I’m NOT saying doulas shouldn’t make money, but if you are going to offer it, try to be very low-key about it for the people like me who would feel stupid having one even in their basement, let alone prominently displayed… I don’t know; when considering a doula, I’d rather hear about her training and experience, not her skills with papier-maché.
