D&C questions concerning bleedling???
ByI recently had a D&C (8 May) to clear out my uterus from a lost twin pregnancy (diagnosed as blighted ovums). I was 9wks5dys. I bled the day that the D&C performed with minor cramping. My bleeding seems unusually light, as I only had to wear a pad for the first 24 hours (didn’t even really need it the last 12 hours of that). It’s the 10th May today, and my “bleeding” is just a couple drops of old blood occaisonally (tmi, I know). Is it normal to bleed so little?? Does the lack of blood mean that they scraped the uterine lining away as well?? I was told at the hospital that they do everything they can to leave the lining in place, but I am concerned, as I want to TTC soon. The mw told me to wait one cycle, but if I were to fall pregnant before my first cycle, thier only real concern would be dating the pregnancy… does/has anyone had successful pregnancies that soon after a D&C?? Hubby is due out soon with work and will be gone for several months… so, it’s now or in 6-8 mths

So sorry for your loss, i just lost twins too last week may 2nd but thankfully did not need an d&c. From my conversation with my doc prior to knowing if i needed one or not, she was very straightforward that if i needed a d&c i would need to wait at least 2 months, ideally 3, to make sure my body/uterus is prepared to carry another child. your risk of miscarriage increases the sooner you get pregnant following a d&c.
with that said, a friend of mine told me she immediately tried following hers many years ago and had a daughter! I’m nervous to say go for it because it might lead you to further disappointment. You should be straightforward with your doc, explain your situation of your husband leaving and see what she says. best of luck to you -

in july2004 i had a mc at what i thougth was 7-8 wks btu us showed 5wks. i needed a d&c becuase i was loosing to much blood. however i was in no rush to even think about sex again because i was so scared. i didnt have sex until 7 months later. the first time used a condom and the 2nd time he left it inside and bam i got pregnant. honestly i dont recall the amount of blood, but im sure everyone is different. just how everyoen reacts to abortion different. teh whole time before i was waiting to have my d&c everytime the nurse woudl coem in i kept asking if they were sure i could have more kids after she said yes. i had my son sept 2005 and then in may of 2006 i ended up preg with my daughter.
