I’ve noticed a few purple/redish lines on either side of my inner thigh (male/24). I read online about it possibly being stretch marks (I have gain about 30lbs in the past year and a half, to 215 @ 6′1″) I just noticed them about a week ago (out of the blue). They are very noticeable and weird to just show up like that.
Now my true question is, when I feel the “stretch marks” they feel different than the surrounding skin. They feel like a thin layer of skin with a hole underneath. Almost like the thicker (maybe fatty) tissue has ripped and left a hole in the firmer underlining. Now I’ve been known for having VERY muscular legs so I’ve always have had large thighs. Now the total amount of “new” fat seems small. Is this normal, or should I get a professional to look at it? I’m in a long/strong relationship, so I dont think STD is really an option.
Just seeing if this is normal, or should I keep looking into this?

That’s normal. I have some stretch marks that just popped up like that after I gained about 30 pounds or so, and they felt exactly the same way. They will fade over time and the spot will firm up a bit. Eventually, they will become a white, silvery color if you’re a Caucasian. (I’m not sure if it would be the same color for other races or not). In that case, they won’t be all that noticeable. But, for several months, they will be bright red and annoying. You could try stretch mark creams to firm up your skin, but I haven’t found any that work. Losing weight helps a bit as well.
