How can I afford to be a stay at home mom?
ByI’m looking for a way to be a stay at home mom.
I work full time at a hospital and make a respectable income, and I am the insurance holder.
My husband is self employeed and relies on the economy for company business. He also makes double the money I make.
How can I stay at home and afford insurance? My husband has diabetes so we have to have insurance.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Have you looked into insurance for his business… what I mean is purchasing it like a small business would, to cover you and the kids? They have some companies out there that are pretty resonably priced. I work for a small company and they have a great plan that they found through their broker. You should call a broker and find out what your options are. Good luck!

Tough one. I know another family who sounds almost exactly like yours. She’s a nurse at a hospital and has been able to go to part time and keep the insurance. Her hubby owns his own business, but is able to schedule around her working so that someone is always home with the kids.

I would check with the NASE, National Association for the Self Employed. I am a stay at home mom and my spouse is self employed. You can check out their website: http://www.nase.org/benefits.asp
they should be able to help you in some way with your questions.

I’m a stay at home mom and I do purse parties. It allows me to be at home during the day and then some evenings and weekends I go do parties. I’m only gone fr about 4 hours total! I love it.
