Do pro-choicers agree or disagree with this law?
ByQuestion by bored@work: Do pro-choicers agree or disagree with this law?
Unborn Victims of Violence Act – 2004
The law states that any “child in utero” is considered to be a legal victim if injured or killed during the commission of a federal crime of violence. The bills definition of “child in utero” is “a member of the species homo sapiens, at any stage of development, who is carried in the womb.”
And if you agree, what is your opinion of when life starts (what stage)? Although many states now have fetal homicide laws, there are a wide variety of differences about when a fetus is considered living. In 18 states, the laws recognize a fetus as living at the time of conception.

Obviously the disagree, they see fetuses as an inconvenience.

If a fetus is living at the time of conception we’ll have to round up and charge every woman who’s had a miscarriage with manslaughter.

Laws of that nature are not intended to define the abortion issue
but rather intended to further punish anyone who is sadistic enough to steal away a woman’s chance at the precious gift of motherhood. No matter when you think life begins, everyone should agree that the assault or murder of a pregnant woman is abominable.

What people are not told Roe v. Wade came about due to the economic disparity between rich and poor women.
When abortions are illegal the rich have their doctors arrange their “miscarriage” while the poor suffer many indignities and sometimes die like dogs in the gutter.
By virtue of their money the affluent have always been free to family plan as they see fit. That’s why before Roe v. Wade there was a popular saying that went, “The rich get richer and the poor have kids”

I’m on the fence with abortion, but it sounds logical.
As for when “life” starts, it’s hard to say realistically. Unfortunately we don’t have memories from our time inutero thus can’t ask anyone when their life started.

8 weeks, according to science. I know those christian fanatics don’t believe that science is proof of anything, but it’s not even a fetus until 8 weeks. I personally don’t agree with abortion after that period, but I am pro-choice regardless, because it’s not about me, it’s about the woman going through it.

Because in their minds if you got a white oat on, then you can commit murder. Thats it.

I don’t see a problem with it. For obvious reasons, although you probably can’t figure those out.

The woman is not giving consent therefor the fetus is considered to be what it will become if left alone which is a human life. Abortion is a women’s decision on something inside her body…

Well since the person possessed the malicious intent to injure or kill a pregnant women, I agree with it.
One could only assume that the woman would go through with the pregnancy, I also believe that the stage of pregnancy should be a factor in this case.

A fetus becomes a human being at the end of the ninth trimester.

They strongly disagree!!!
A baby is not a baby until it’s born and until then everything goes!!
Rip it apart, burn it to death!!
What ever method of execution is handy!!!

Here’s the thing. Pro-choicers will say that the fetus is not a living thing, and doesn’t have the same rights as those of us who have already been born.
…but the moment a pregnant women gets kicked in the stomach and has a miscarriage of it, it’s a homicide!
The statement here is that “murder is ok, as long as a woman does it.”
IF anything it is granting women more special privilege and exempting them from the laws the rest of us have to follow.
