I just found out I’m Pregnant, concerned about flu shot i got 3 weeks ago?

By pregnantnews

I remember it contained mercury as a preservative. I’ve always been very freaked out about shots and their relativity to childhood development in the womb. Should I be this concerned? I think I’m about 5 weeks to 2 months along.
Thanks for your insight. My mind is slightly more at ease. can’t believe I’m prego and congrats to you all. I feel about a year of hypochondria coming my way.

It doesnt contain enough mercury to hurt a fly!!!!
Tuna fish has more mercury in it than the flu shot.
If your that concerned then talk to your doctor, but I am sure its fine.

Pregnant women are among the top 3 who doctors feel should have the shot in order to protect you and baby so don’t worry. Obviously bring it up to your doctor but if you are pregnant during the winter months, they usually highly recommend getting one. Best of luck to you and congratulations!

Your doctor would want you to have one anyways. My OB routinely gives flu shots to all pregnant women. I refused one because my guy feels very strongly about unnecessary inoculations during pregnancy/infancy and my doc was not happy about it.

Whats done is done. There is no use in worrying about it now .. this should be a happy stress-free time for you and your baby.

Good luck.

They highly recommend them for pregnant woman. In fact, they say if you get it in your last month, the vaccine could also be beneficial for your baby up until 6 months old!

So, I’m sure you are totally fine!

Congratulations!

It contains an extremely small amount of mercury.

They strongly advise women who will be pregnant in the flu season to get the flu shot.

You’ll be fine
